Installing your Connected Doorbell

posted this on January 16, 2017 23:52PM

On what types of surfaces can I mount my Connected Doorbell?

The included screws and anchors were meant to be used to mount the doorbell onto wood, brick, concrete and stucco surfaces. If your home has a surface that cannot be drilled, you can use weatherproof double-sided tape as long as you make sure that the gap between the wall and the doorbell is water-sealed.

What types of transformers are compatible with the Connected Doorbell?

The Connected Doorbell was designed to connect seamlessly to the existing wiring from your home's mechanical doorbell chime. The Connected Doorbell can be connected to a low-voltage transformer operating between 8VAC - 24VAC only. If you would like to connect to a compatible low voltage transformer without a chime, you will need to use a 20 ohm resistor (not included). The Connected Doorbell is not compatible with intercom systems and DC transformers.

What are the network requirements for the Connected Doorbell?

The Connected Doorbell requires a 2.4GHz WiFi connection with WPA/WPA2 encryption for security. For optimal performance on dual-band routers, please make sure that your 2.4GHz and 5GHz network bands are broadcasting with different network names (SSID).
